What those claims actually mean

Every shop says fast, affordable and professional. Here is what each of those is worth in practice, so you can check us against anyone else you are quoting.

The design review is free, and it happens before we print

Every quote includes a design-for-manufacturing review. We open your file and look for the things that quietly ruin a print: walls under about 1.2 mm that will not hold load, unsupported overhangs past roughly 45 degrees, holes that will come out under-size, text too fine to resolve, and bosses that will shear along the layer lines. You get that feedback in the quote reply, before anything is committed. Most online services print exactly what you uploaded and let you discover the problem when the box arrives.

Fast means 2–7 business days, and we will tell you when it does not

Standard turnaround is 2–7 business days from an approved quote. Rush work is genuinely possible because we run several machines at once — a batch splits across printers instead of queueing on one — and for local customers that can mean same-day or next-day pickup when the schedule and material allow. What we will not do is quote a date we cannot hold. If your deadline is not realistic for the geometry, you will hear that in the quote rather than on the delivery date.

Local means you can put your hands on the part

Pickup is in Spencerport by appointment, about twenty minutes from downtown Rochester. That matters more than it sounds. On a prototype you often cannot tell whether a fit is right from a photograph, and a five-minute conversation holding the part beats three days of email. For Rochester and Monroe County clients that loop is the whole advantage of working locally.

Affordable means no tooling and no minimums

3D printing has no tooling cost, which is why a run of twenty is viable when injection moulding needs thousands of units to make sense. Jigs and fixtures typically land 70–90% below a machined equivalent. Small prototypes usually run $15–$75. We quote every job individually — no hourly rates, no subscription, no minimum order.

Tough jobs are the ones we want

Bring the broken part with no drawing, the discontinued component the OEM stopped making in 1997, the sketch on the back of an envelope. Reverse engineering from a physical sample is normal work here, not an exception. We have also printed a kidney transplant surgical training model for URMC — a 10-inch anatomical block most desktop shops cannot fit on a plate. If a shop has already told you no, that is usually a good reason to ask us.

NDA-ready, and the people are the same every time

We sign non-disclosure agreements for confidential work, and because this is a family shop the people handling your project do not rotate. There is no ticket queue and no offshore hand-off — the person who quoted your job is the person who runs it and the person who calls you if something needs a decision.
