Every project is quoted individually — but here's what most jobs land at so you can sanity-check your budget before filling out the form.
Single parts
Most prototype and one-off parts land in this range depending on size, material, and finish.
- Small enclosures, brackets, mounts
- Replacement parts and fit checks
- Hobby miniatures and display pieces
10 – 500 units
Per-unit pricing drops as volume scales. No tooling costs, no minimums beyond 10.
- Product launches & Kickstarter runs
- Branded promo items and awards
- Replacement-part runs for small manufacturers
Custom projects
Design work, reverse engineering, large batches (500+), and manufacturing tooling are quoted per project.
- CAD modeling from a sketch or photo
- Jigs, fixtures & gauges (70–90% less than machined)
- Architectural models and large-format work
Rush orders may add up to 50% of the base price. Need a more specific estimate? Get a free quote — we respond within one business day.

Not sure which service you need?
Most people arrive with a problem rather than a service name. Here is how the eight above map onto what you are actually trying to do.
- "I have a design and want to see if it works." That is rapid prototyping — CAD to a part in hand in 2–7 days, usually across two or three iteration cycles.
- "I need more than a few, but not thousands." Small-batch production. Anywhere from 3 to 100+ identical parts with no tooling to pay for, which is what makes short runs viable at all.
- "The part broke and nobody sells it any more." Reverse engineering. Bring the broken original, or a photo and measurements if it is in pieces, and we build the model from that.
- "I have an idea but no 3D file." Also custom design — we model from a sketch, a sample, or a conversation.
- "My production line needs a fixture." Jigs and fixtures, typically 70–90% below a machined equivalent and delivered in days.
- "We need something branded for an event." Awards and promotional pieces, with low minimums.
Which process fits the job
Two processes cover almost everything we print, and the choice is usually decided by what the part has to survive rather than what it looks like.
FDM builds the part from extruded filament. It is the workhorse: strong along the right axes, cheap per part, available in engineering plastics, and unbeatable for anything large. It holds roughly ±0.2 mm and leaves visible layer lines. Prototypes, fixtures, enclosures, brackets and large parts go here.
SLA resin cures liquid resin with light. It holds roughly ±0.1 mm on parts under about 100 mm and captures detail filament simply cannot reach, at a higher cost per part and with more brittleness. Miniatures, anatomical models, dental and jewellery patterns, and anything where surface finish is the point go here.
Our full breakdown is in FDM vs SLA, and if you are weighing printing against machining or moulding, 3D printing vs CNC vs injection moulding compares all three on cost and timeline for short runs.
Materials we stock
PLA for dimensional stability and cheap fit checks. PETG for impact resistance and outdoor use. ABS and ASA where heat and UV matter. Nylon for living hinges and clips that must flex without cracking. TPU where the part needs to be genuinely rubbery. SLA resin for fine detail. Tell us what the part has to endure — heat, sunlight, solvents, repeated flexing, food contact — and we will choose with you rather than defaulting to whatever is already loaded.
What every quote includes
A free design-for-manufacturing review before anything prints, a firm price with no hourly rates or minimums, a realistic date rather than an optimistic one, and a straight answer if the geometry will not hold the tolerance you need. Quotes come back within one business day. Pickup is in Spencerport, about twenty minutes from Rochester, or we ship anywhere in the continental U.S. See past projects or read how we work.
